Torx Button Flange Bolts in Black Stainless Steel The Torx drive, formally defined as a hexalobular internal drive, offers a number of practical advantages over traditional hex socket (allen key) eners. The six-lobed star profile distributes torque across a significantly larger contact area than a hex socket of equivalent size, dramatically reducing the risk of cam-out (The tendency of a driver to slip out of the recess under high torque).
This makes Torx-drive button flange screws particularly well suited to production line assembly, power tool installation and any application where speed and repeatability matter. The increased contact area also means less force is needed at the driver to achieve the same clamping torque, reducing wear on both the ener and the bit over time.
For black stainless steel eners where protecting the CB10 finish during installation is important, the reduced cam-out risk of the Torx drive is an especially valuable characteristic - a slipping hex key can scuff the head surface, whereas a properly seated Torx bit stays firmly engaged throughout the drive cycle.
CB10 black stainless steel finish The 'Carbolts' CB10 black finish is achieved by applying our very own 'CB10' process. Unlike other blackened ener finishes, that can chip or corrode over time, our permanent corrosion resistant black finish becomes integral and binds to the steel. It's the preferred choice for engineers, precision project builders, and custom assemblers. When a stealth black finish is what's required, CB10 is the number one choice.
These button flange bolts are manufactured using A2-70 grade stainless steel to ISO 7380-1 specification. Carbolts black stainless steel metric flange torx button bolts are available from M2, right through to M12 and come in a wide range of lengths. All supplied in various pack sizes.
