This Macallan 18 year old was distilled in 1991 and earlier. A benchmark: not just for Macallan, but for aged whisky everywhere. Sets the standard for sherried Speysides to aspire to. 'Best Malt in the World': The Macallan 18 years old, Whisky Magazine, June 2004. 1991 is, in our view, top of the crop. Getting rarer! Nose:sweet, honey, tobacco, spices, floral, citrus, oloroso. Palate:very powerful, almost oily. sweet, sherry, tobacco, cocoa, wood, nuts, honey, floral, grass. Finish:longer than average, withfloral, wood, and citrus with a spicy almost woody finish - delicious!
