The follow-up to the distillery's incredibly popular Tun 1401 series, Tun 1509 is made with a bigger marrying tun and continues to be absolutely fantastic. For the second batch, they used 32 casks - 23 American oak casks and 9 European oak Sherry casks, and allowed to marry for a few months before being bottled at 50.3% ABV. 8500 bottles were produced in total. Nose: Luscious with aromas of honey, orange peel, sweet oak vanilla and delicate ginger spiciness. Palate: Richly sweet, combining elegant honey with tangy citrus and gentle vanilla. Subtle notes of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg. Finish: Smooth finish with lingering spice and citrus elements.
