What is a guitar wall mount?
A guitar wall mount is a way ofmounting one or more guitars to a wall for storage or display purposes. It could be a single hook or a wall mounting rack that can hold several guitars. Mounting guitars on the wall saves space and keeps them off the floor where they could get damaged.

No matter how many guitars you need to store you only need to drill3 holesfor each rack so fitting is really quick and easy, Mounting ordinary guitar hooks for 9 guitars would mean drilling 36 holes!!!

Eachguitar rack is fitted with 3 GearHooks® and will store up to3, 6 or 9 guitars depending on the length of the GearHooks.

The GTR3has 3 x 100mm longGearHooks® which hold one guitar each. Total 3.
The GTR6has 3 x 200mm long GearHooks® which hold two guitars each. Total 6.
The GTR9has 3 x 300mm long GearHooks® which holdthreeguitars each. Total 9.
If you have more guitars just order more racks. These can be mounted next to each other or one above the other, in which case you can get 2 or 3 in about 1 metre of wall space.
EachGearHook has a soft silicone coating*** to protect your guitars. The rail comes in a choice of colours (red, orange, blue, green, yellow, grey, whiteand black) so you can match your decor or guitars.
All theGTR3/6/9 racksmount with just 3 holes so fitting is really quick and easy.Screwing 1 ordinary guitar hook to the wall would probably mean you correctly lining up and drilling 4 tiny holes. Fitting enough for3 guitars would mean 12 holes. For 9 guitars that would be 36 holes!! That's a lot of drilling and lots of opportunities to get it wrong.
All our racks fit with just 3 x 8mm holes that are quick and easy to drill and, because the rails fit via a slot, you can be a few mm off and the rail will still be spot on.
GearHooks® mount on the rail via a sliding nut and clamp that allow the hooks to be fitted anywhere on the rail. You can even rotate the hooks which means you can mountthe rail at an angle or mount 2 rails in a V shape to really make a statement.
Some photographs show extra storage hooks so you can store smaller instruments, headphones, microphones, leads and more in between the guitars to really make use of wall space. (these are an optional extra and not included as standard).
The rack is supplied, as standard, with GearHooks® with a 45mm gap. This is ideal for a mixture of acoustic and electric guitars* with a ’standard’ 45mm neck** measured at the nut. If you have some 12 string or Spanish guitars, with a wider neck, it is possible to open up the prongs, on longer GearHooks, to make the outermost gap(s) wider.

Important notes
* Heavy guitars with curved necks may force open the prongs on longer hooks so we supply 1 or 2 straps per hook, which can be fitted after the first or second guitar, to stop this happening. We recommend storingthe heaviest guitars closest to the wall.
** Some guitars with an asymmetric headstocks (like a Fender Stratocaster) will not sit properly between the prongs of the GearHooks. It is sometimes possible to resolve this by rotating the hook (so one prong is higher than the other) or by adding more straps (which we supply FOC). It may not be possible to mount all guitars like this on the rack.
*** Nitrocellulose Lacquer-we fit our standard guitar racks with Silicone sleeves. These should not reactwith the Nitrocellulose finishes whichmay be used on Vintage and very expensive guitars. We supply instructions to double check.
OtherMusical Instrumentstorage solutions
For schools and colleges we will supply harder wearing PVC sleeves as standard unless otherwise requested. These are not suitable for guitars with Nitrocellulose but are fine with Polyester and other lacquers.
